We are mothers, wives, young professionals, retirees, singles,
homemakers and concerned activists.
The Mecklenburg Evening Republican Women was created in 1962. Our members have been delegates to the Republican National Convention, served in leadership in the National Federation of Republican Women and held leadership throughout the Republican Party. We have grown exponentially as fellow Republican women find strong red voices in the blue Queen City! Republican women are an integral part of the Republican effort in Mecklenburg County. MERWC members are justifiably proud of the contribution and impact we have in partnering with the MeckGOP.
We are the Red Bull of the Republican Party!

Lisa was born and raised in a conservative small town a few miles northeast of Charlotte. She attended college at UNCC, obtaining her BA in Business Administration in 1985. A few years later, Lisa furthered her education at Pfeiffer University and graduated with an MBA in 1992. She worked in a family-owned retail business for many years early in her career, and then broadened her work experience with employment at a local manufacturing company.
Lisa and her husband, Tim, currently own a real estate firm, with their market focus being primarily in the Charlotte area. So the ties to small business and the local region have only been strengthened, growing into a passionate desire to protect and cultivate the conservative qualities of the city. Lisa joined MERWC in 2014 to become more educated in the politics of Mecklenburg County. As a result, she is all the more resolved to advance the footprint of Republican values and halt the threat of progressivism that seems to have taken root in Charlotte.
A passionate cry for American Conservatism echoed in her household ever since Stephanie can remember. Living all over the United States, she was always challenged to aspire to become a better member of family, country and community and to respect this great nation of ours. As a Republican she found her ideological footing and gravitated to the facts, logic and reality and lessons she had learned along the way.
Katherine truly urges all Republican women to join their local political arena and work to “Make America Great Again.”

Nisha Victoria Giri
Nisha is an aspiring Proverbs 31 woman, a Republican, and a Finance Professional. She was born on Long Island, lived in Lake Oswego, OR, and grew up in Ridgewood, NJ. She graduated with a Business Administration degree with a Concentration in Finance from Ramapo College. She relocated to the Charlotte area in 2013.
While being very heavily active in ministry related activities, she had an interest in making more of a difference. Her heart is to bring our communities back to a place of conservative principles, high morals, and safe, prosperous neighborhoods with top notch education – much of which was beyond the scope of ministry initiatives.
She, then, decided to join the Mecklenburg Republican Women’s Club in 2017. Within very little time she realized that MERWC had been working towards achieving the goals closest to her heart every single day. In 2018 she started to volunteer as the Special Events Committee Chair along with volunteering to assist candidates with their campaigns so that, together, we would assist our President on the local level to make America Great Again – one county at a time…
